John Hayton Wood Carving

John Hayton is a wood carver and furniture maker who shares the workshop with his son, Joseph Hayton.  Joseph has a stone carving workshop at Unit 9 King Street Workshops, Pateley Bridge, across the courtyard from the Sanders and Wallace glass workshop. 

John makes unique pieces in a variety of timber. His commissions include hand carved domestic and ecclesiastical furniture from fine hard woods as well as hand made rocking horses in American tulip wood.

John collaborated with Sanders and Wallace on a font made for Darley church, with John making the base for the font in oak and ash and Sanders and Wallace producing the bespoke font bowl.
